Aviation Tours has selected the Beechcraft King Air as our aircraft of choice for all Australian journeys, chosen not only for its performance and reliability, but for the experience it offers our guests. For our international departures, we utilise the most appropriate aircraft for each destination and operating environment, ensuring the same high standard of comfort, safety and seamless travel.
From the moment you step onboard, the difference is clear. The King Air offers a smooth, quiet and comfortable journey, allowing you to relax as the landscape unfolds beneath you. Flying at lower altitudes, as needed, than commercial aircraft, every flight becomes part of the experience, revealing vast horizons, changing terrain and remote regions few travellers will ever witness from above.
With a long standing reputation as one of the most trusted aircraft in aviation, the King Air is powered by the renowned Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6 engine, known for its exceptional reliability. This proven performance allows us to access remote destinations with confidence, connecting remarkable places in a way that is both efficient and deeply rewarding.
Comfort and Configuration
Our King Air aircraft are configured with leather seating for just 8 to 9 guests, creating a comfortable and refined onboard environment. On journeys longer than four days, two flight crew are onboard, ensuring the highest levels of professionalism, safety and attentive service throughout your experience. Our shorter Escape and international tours may carry up to 10 guests with one crew member, maintaining the same seamless and considered approach.
The aircraft is fully pressurised, allowing for a smooth and comfortable journey above changing weather conditions when required. Air conditioning ensures a pleasant cabin environment, while the cabin itself is designed to feel relaxed, quiet and refined.
Each flight sector is carefully planned, with a maximum leg time of 1 hour and 45 minutes and an average of just 56 minutes on most tours. This thoughtful pacing allows you to travel in comfort while maximising your time on the ground, fully immersed in each destination rather than in transit.
While there are no toilet facilities onboard, regular stops are scheduled throughout your journey, allowing for a relaxed and well paced travel experience.
Performance and Experience
Certified to 35,000 feet, our King Air typically cruises between 20,000 and 30,000 feet, depending on distance and conditions. Travelling at approximately 500 kilometres per hour, comparable to regional airliners, it delivers a level of speed and capability that allows us to cover vast distances with ease.
